StraussOnline's July auction now live
13 Jul 2016
There’s something to tempt everyone on StraussOnline’s July 2016 auction which opened on 8 July 2016. Featuring more than 450 lots, the auction house showcases its extensive offering of contemporary and 20th century artworks, silver, ceramics, furniture and books.
Bidders will not be disappointed, whether they have set their sights on a work by JH Pierneef or Marianne Podlashuc, Robert Hodgins or Colbert Mashile, something from Avant Car Guard or Conrad Botes, William Kentridge or Marlene Dumas, Norman Catherine or Tommy Motswai, Cecil Skotnes or Cyprian Shilakoe, Frans Claerhout, Harold Voigt or Phaswane David Mogano.
Art purchases can be paired with a beautiful George V silver entrée dish, a George VI three-piece silver tea service, a Victorian silver teapot or a George V silver salver. Or if preferred, there is also a lovely range of Linn Ware, 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty blue and white plates or Chinese cloisonné enamel and gilt vases. And, do not miss out on the good selection of art books to add to the mix.
StraussOnline’s auction went live in the run up to this year’s Turbine Art Fair (TAF) that takes place from 14 – 17 July at Turbine Hall in downtown Johannesburg. The auction closes at 8:00pm on Monday 18 July. Visitors to Strauss & Co’s stylishly designed stand, in collaboration with Condé Nast House and Garden, will have an opportunity to view highlights of the online sale, and will also be able to meet Strauss & Co specialists who will guide prospective bidders through the easy online bidding process.
