Strauss & Co is delighted to announce, “Twelve Days of Christmas”, a timed online auction opening on Friday 29th November and closing on 12th December 2025.
Inspired by the beloved Christmas carol, 12 Days of Christmas, which originated in 16th-century England and was first printed in 1780 as a popular Christmas song, the sale captures the festive spirit with works across art, design, ceramics, jewellery as well as rare books.
The cumulative sale features 12 thoughtfully curated sessions featuring a selection of items corresponding to the day’s session number. For instance, Session 1 includes a single work on paper by Anton Kannemeyer, Session 5 includes five exquisite rings in various precious metals — tanzanite, diamond, and tourmaline, Session 6 includes ceramic artworks by Ruan Hoffmann, blending elegant expression and utility, while Session 12 presents twelve works by a range of artists such as Olaf Bisschoff, James Mooney, Sipho Ndlovu and Nils Burwitz.
