Alistair Butt

British 1963- 

Alistair Butt, born in South Africa in 1963, moved to the United Kingdom as a teenager. He studied art for several years, specialising in illustration, and later transitioned to a full-time art career in 2004. Butt works primarily in oils and watercolours, with a focus on capturing the effects of light in landscapes. He is known for portraying shimmering streams, sunlit woods, and winter shadows. A member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, Butt regularly exhibits at prestigious venues such as the Mall Galleries, with his work held in collections worldwide.
