Andrew Ntshabele

South African 1986- 

Andrew Ntshabele is a contemporary artist from South Africa. He was born in 1986 in the rural town of Moruleng in the North West Province, but he grew up in Johannesburg, where he still lives and works. Ntshabele studied fine art at the University of Johannesburg and received a BTech degree in 2013. His mixed-media works, which combine collage and acrylic paint, reflect the daily scenes he encounters while living in the inner city. His art portrays themes of decay, poverty, and the myriad of challenges faced by fellow residents. In 2012, Ntshabele received the Thami Mnyele Fine Arts painting merit award. He has showcased his work in numerous exhibitions in South Africa and internationally in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden.
