Anton Bosch

South African 1958-

South African ceramicist Anton Bosch was born in Pretoria in 1958. In the early 1980s, he studied painting and drawing at the Pretoria Art School before joining his father, acclaimed ceramicist Esias Bosh, in his studio. Here he found success in marrying his painting and drawing skills with ceramics, something that he would become known for. In 2007, he left his father’s studio and built his own studio and gallery near his home in White River, which he shares with his wife, Hanlie, also a ceramicist. Bosch has exhibited throughout South Africa and his work is featured in many local and international collections, including the Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town where he was commissioned to make a fountain.
