Claudette Schreuders is one of South Africa’s leading sculptors and printmakers. She completed her Master's degree, with the show Family Tree, at the Michaelis School of Fine Art in 1998. Schreuders gained international recognition in 1999 through her participation in the Liberated Voices exhibition at the Museum for African Art in New York City. Her solo exhibition, Burnt by the Sun, was showcased at the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York City in 2001. The Long Day, which toured the USA in 2004 and 2005, further solidified her reputation as an international artist. Schreuders has also participated in many national and international group exhibitions, including Impressions from South Africa: 1965 to Now at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City in 2011.
