Mbali Dhlamini

South African 1990- 

Mbali Dhlamini (b. 1990) is a transdisciplinary artist and visual researcher with a Masters in Fine Arts. Her work explores indigenous cultural practices through visual, tactile, and discursive investigations, focusing on decolonized approaches to contemporary culture. Dhlamini’s practice is deeply engaged with her personal visual landscapes, past and present, and aims to foster a process of continuous unlearning and relearning.


Language plays a pivotal role in her work, serving as both a medium of understanding and a repository of knowledge, enabling her to challenge and reimagine cultural narratives within a decolonial framework.
