Muofhe Manavhela

South African 2000- 

Muofhe Manavhela is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Johannesburg. Her work, largely influenced by her experiences as a Black woman navigating 21st-century South Africa, addresses themes of sexuality, youth, freedom, and the domesticity of women. Focusing mainly on painting and printmaking, Manavhela challenges harmful societal narratives around Black womanhood and seeks to redefine its beauty and complexity.
