Pelham Jones

British 1890-1950

Pelham Jones was an accomplished marine artist of the 1930s known for his meticulous watercolours. His depictions of vessels are characterised by great care and attention to detail, exemplifying the naturalistic style that was popular during that era. In addition to his painting, Jones illustrated Sailing Ships of the London River, a book by Frank C. Bowen, published in 1930, which showcased the history of maritime transport along the Thames. His work remains a testament to the rich heritage of marine art, capturing the beauty and craftsmanship of ships in a time when such representations were highly valued.
