Ruhan Janse van Vuuren

South African 1981- 

Ruhan Janse van Vuuren was born in Amersfoort, Mpumalanga in 1981 and the family moved to Pretoria in 1989; it is here where he matriculated in 1999 from Garsfontein High School. Janse van Vuuren studied Fine Arts at the Tshwane University of Technology under the guidance of Guy du Toit, Jan van der Merwe, and Kevin Roberts, where he specialised in sculpture and painting. After completing his degree, Janse van Vuuren assisted in the modelling of large-scale figures at Dionysus Sculpture Foundry. After four years of apprenticeship, he decided to focus on the development of his own career with sculptures reflecting his wide range of capabilities, such as working in bronze, stainless steel, aluminium, and granite.

Janse van Vuuren continues to work from his studio in Pretoria. He has exhibited nationally and internationally and divides his time between creating bodies of work for exhibitions and commissions for both private and public clients.
