Sasha Hartslief

South African 1974- 

Born in 1974, Sasha Hartslief is a largely self-taught South African artist whose emotionally charged paintings explore the human condition from a deeply personal perspective. Drawing inspiration from classical and Impressionist masters like John Singer Sargent and Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, she uses brushstrokes to capture the transience of light, colour, and movement. Since 1999, she has exhibited regularly at Everard Read Gallery in Cape Town, Franschhoek, and London, with several solo exhibitions.
