baluster, the front moulded in high relief with Amphitrite emerging from the waves in her dolphin-drawn carriage surrounded by mermaids, sea horses, trumpeting putti and the figure of Poseidon, the reverse with Poseidon standing on his shell carriage drawn by three seahorses, each enclosed by foliate and shell borders, the lower half of the body in the form of a clam shell, the spout moulded with foliage and flowerheads, the side applied with a leaf-capped handle terminating in sprays of flowers, the cover surmounted by a merman blowing a shell horn, raised on a circular domed foot moulded with shells and c-scrolls engraved with a crest, scratch weights '2.17 40G LL' and '10"G', 28,5cm high, 1350g
