About this Item
DeMorgenzon first burst onto the scene in 2005 with this, their debut Chenin Blanc earning a Platter’s 5*, from low-yielding vines planted in 1972. Owned by the Wendy and Hylton Applebaum, the picturesque farm with 360° aspect and high views over False bay and Table mountain is perched on top of Stellenbosch kloof.
The 2005 Reserve Chenin, especially from Magnum, is believed by many to be the Cape’s finest example of bottle aged Chenin from old vines.
Notes
Due to time constraints set upon us with the COVID-19 Lockdown no original bottle shots were taken.

Critics Ratings
‘[NEW] Debut 05, ‘best Chenin I ever made’, opines Teddy H. Opulent lemon blossom, honey & spice bouquet; equally alluring satin palate, touch tannin, interminable finish. TH’s trademark sugar (6.8g/L) matched almost gram for gram by bracing acidity. An individual, strikingly packaged head-turner. Fermented/8 months 100% new French oak. Great prospects.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2007, 5*
