About this Item
Hogan Wines sees Jocelyn Hogan Wilson, previously of La Bri in Franschhoek, return to winemaking after a break to start a family. The vines are grown in the Swartland, and wines are made in the Banhoek valley just outside of Stellenbosch. The debut vintage of Hogan Chenin 2014 burst onto the scene to great acclaim, and by as early as 2018 this young producer was listed as one of the Top 5 new wineries in an annual panel selection assembled by Tim James. In the space of only three years, Jocelyn has built a cult following for her wines, with particular popularity in top fine dining establishments.

Critics Ratings
‘A wine in a creamy, butterscotch style with notes of coconut husk, vanilla and spice. This is seamless and vibrant, with hints of earthy yellow fruit and fresh pastry. Classy, age-worthy wine. Drinking Window 2016 – 2020’ – Decanter Magazine Blind tasting panel, 93 Points
'On the nose, there’s a note of dried flowers before stone fruit, a hint of ginger and a touch of spice. The palate has plenty of concentrated fruit but also lovely freshness while the finish is long and gently savoury. Deftly done.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za 2016, 93 Points
