About this Item
Patatsfontein is a winemaking venture formed by Reenen Borman of Boschkloof, fund manager Henk Kotze and Fritz Schoon – ‘Master’ baker of Schoon De Companje in Stellenbosch. Reenen's accomplished hand and ever-increasing skills are especially impressive considering his young age. He's possibly our finest new-generation winemaker at present and his latest releases are just epic! Their 2014 Steen was Tim Atkin's White Wine Discovery of the Year and changed the status quo of what can be achieved in a region essentially known for sweet Muscadel.
Patatsfontein is a winemaking venture formed by Reenen Borman of Boschkloof, fund manager Henk Kotze and Fritz Schoon – ‘Master’ baker of Schoon in Stellenbosch. This unique wine is made from an old single vineyard situated 600m above sea level in the Montagu mountains planted on Karoo slate and shale. Today it is one of South Africa’s greatest Chenin Blancs.

Critics Ratings
'The 2015 is a step-up from the stellar 2014, showing an unbelievable array of dried fruits, minerality, savoury complexity and phenomenal length. Produced naturally and raised in older oak, it is wonderfully rich and yet deftly poised. This old vine Chenin Blanc has fast become one of South Africa’s finest.' – 94 Points Christian Eedes
