Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region from South Africa can offer. It consists of about 400ha (200ha planted) of which half is stretched over the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, internationally recognised for some of the best red wine soil in South Africa. The other half is situated high up in the Bottelary Hills, renowned for its cool climate and late afternoon sea breezes swooping in from Cape Town to nurture both excellent white and red wines.
50 year old bush vines from Bottelary property planted in ironstone. Careful attention to detail and cautious treatment of botrytis infected bunches were necessary during the 2014 vintage to keep the wine as delicately balanced as usual. 2014 was characterised by increased botrytis levels. IWC Fairtrade and Gold Award.

This wine has won the International trophy for the best Chenin blanc in the world 4 times in the last 7 years at the International Wine & Spirits competition. Stellenrust is the only producer to be featured under the Top 10 Chenin Blanc’s in the annual Standard Bank Chenin Challenge since it started.
