About this Item

1977 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Beringer Vineyards is the oldest continuously operating vineyard in California’s Napa Valley, with the first wine bottled by the Beringer brothers in 1876. Beringer has carefully cultivated a diverse portfolio of prized vineyards across many Napa and Sonoma Valley appellations. These vineyards range from the highest hills in Napa to the valley floor behind their historic winery, all expertly matched to the star varieties of the region - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay, as well as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Meritage (Bordeaux-styled) blends.

Provenance

The Distell Tabernacle - Stellenbosch

Critics Ratings

‘Medium red with an amber rim. Redcurrant, cherry and menthol on the nose. Similar flavors on the palate, with complicating notes of leather, mint, earth and sundried tomato and strong savoury spices. Finishes with a slight edge of acidity and resolved tannins. A bit dry but still has energy and fruit.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Jul 2015)
