About this Item

1973 Pommard
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Maison Bouchard Ainé et Fils is a large Burgundian négociant based in Beaune. The company was established in the 1730’s and does not own any vineyards, rather making wine from bought-in grapes and distributing the wine under their label - with an extensive portfolio ranging from regional and village wines, to grand cru bottlings. The company has belonged to the Boisset family since 1993, and should not be confused with the similarly named Bouchard Père et Fils, who own vineyards and make wines from large swathes of the Côte d’Or.

Provenance

The Distell Tabernacle - Stellenbosch

Critics Ratings

‘Punching above its class. Still rather fresh. Drinkable mature Burgundy that smells like autumn with wisps of red fruit remaining.’ - Cellartracker (Jan 2015)
