About this Item
Founded in 1682, Rustenberg Estate on the Simonsberg foothills is one of the most historic and picturesque farms in South Africa. The farm was previously split into two estates, until 1945 when industrialist Peter Barlow purchased both farms and reunited them. Rustenberg is family-owned with son of Peter Barlow, Simon, owning the estate and grandson, Murray (2 x Diners Club Young Winemaker of the Year) now cellar master.
The now legendary Cabernet Sauvignon 1975 remains one of the finest wines of the era and is still in remarkable condition today. Pristine bottles are now extremely rare.
This wine has been checked and re-corked by Amorim cork under supervision of auction curator Higgo Jacobs, assuring provenance, quality and long life. Seal code ID-787014, eB-942128 can be traced on Amorim Recorking Directory

Critics Ratings
'Red fruit, a fungal note, caramel and meat stock on the nose. Very light in body with nicely integrated acidity and tannins that have resolved nicely – still alive.' - Chistian Eedes, 90/100 (Apr 2022)
