Often described as the South African equivalent of a Grand Cru or First Growth, Kanonkop Estate is situated on the Simonsberg mountain slopes on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. Owned by the fourth generation Krige family, Abri Beeslaar is their long-term winemaker who has won International Winemaker of the year an incredible 3 times.

Paul Sauer is their internationally acclaimed, long-aging Bordeaux blend and was named after former owner and figurehead, Paul Sauer, and was first made in 1981.

Winner of the La Revue du vin de France trophy, this 1991 flagship red utilised favourable conditions in an "above average" vintage for Stellenbosch to produce a fine, structured and complex red that has aged remarkably well.
