About this Item

1982 Carlonet
1 (1 x 1) 3000ml

Granted as a grazing farm to Jan Oberholzer in 1712 before being acquired by Hans Von Carlowitz in 1929, Uitkyk is situated in Klapmuts in the Cape Winelands. The Carlonet is what Uitkyk is renowned for and it is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsaut. The name Carlonet is a combination of the first winemakers name Carlo and the Net coming from the net at the Cabernet.

Vintage bottles of this blend are now considered prized collector’s items and are incredibly hard to come by. 1973 and 1974 are some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignons ever produced in South Africa, while the great vintage of 82 is a solid, powerfully structured wine.
