About this Item
Buitenverwachting is one of the historical jewels in the crown of South Africa’s oldest wine region, Constantia, just outside of Cape Town. Dating back to 1796, this beautiful property is currently owned by the Maack family who have been putting quality and legacy at the forefront of their stewardship of the farm and its wines.
Although the valley is chiefly known for its sweets and complex Sauvignons, the Christine is widely revered and awarded for its elegance, structure and age-worthiness.

Critics Ratings
'A Cape fixture as one of its best classically minded Bordeaux-style blends. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc (40/36/20) & dollop Malbec into a particularly fine, impressive whole, whose appealing, developing bouquet presages a deep, ripe-fruited but subtle palate, majestically balanced, coping well with big 14.5% alc & ±22 months new French oak. Should have a long, happy future.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2006, 4.5*
