About this Item
Wedged between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains, situated on the beautiful Mont Fleur farm, is the boutique De Trafford winery. The Trafford family purchased the land in 1976 and a small vineyard was in place by 1983.
Their powerful and long-aging Cabernet Sauvignon has a become cult ever since their first 1992 vintage.
The 2006 vintage produced super low yields for De Trafford Cabernet, resulting in their typical concentration and longevity.

Critics Ratings
‘But let me make this clear if a decade's worth of reviews haven't made it clear enough already: David Trafford makes some of the most distinctive, compelling wine in South Africa.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
‘Regal Cape Cabernet from parsimonious 1kg fruit per vine. David Trafford’s “threshold for great wine”. 2006 is astonishing in its currant & tobacco leaf focus, powder-fine tannins & deft integration. Wonderful! 7% Petit Verdot’ - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2009, 4.5*
