About this Item
Based in Meursault, between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay, Henri Boillot is at the epicentre of great winemaking. The Boillots have been tending vines and making wines since 1885. Henri joined in 1975, bought out his siblings in 2005 and his son Guillaume joined in 2008. It totals 19 hectares, planted almost equally to red and white. Included herein, are 4 hectares of the famous monopole vineyard Clos de la Mouchère, which has developed a cult following. In a very short space of time, they have built an extraordinary reputation for the sheer quality of their Burgundies, it is no surprise that Allen Meadows thinks this superstar producer ‘has arguably become the finest pure négoce specializing in white Burgundy today’.
This lot consists of the following wines:
Henri Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens 2009 (2 x 750ml)

Henri Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens 2009
'The 2009 Pommard Les Rugiens (from Rugiens-Hauts) comes across as a touch airy but super-refined. Silky tannins support an energetic core of fruit through to the pointed, focused finish. The 2009 is impressive for its drive and insistence. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2019.' - Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, 93/100 (Apr 2012)
Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru Les Chevrets 2015
'Vibrant red fruit with a dark chocolate character and something like olive or juniper. Juicy, refreshing with astute bitterness that complements the cherry flavours perfectly.' - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jan 2017)
