About this Item

2015 Corton-Charlemagne
2 (1 x 2) 750ml

Based in Meursault, between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay, Henri Boillot is at the epicentre of great winemaking. The Boillots have been tending vines and making wines since 1885. Henri joined in 1975, bought out his siblings in 2005 and his son Guillaume joined in 2008. It totals 19 hectares, planted almost equally to red and white. Included herein, are 4 hectares of the famous monopole vineyard Clos de la Mouchère, which has developed a cult following. In a very short space of time, they have built an extraordinary reputation for the sheer quality of their Burgundies, it is no surprise that Allen Meadows thinks this superstar producer ‘has arguably become the finest pure négoce specializing in white Burgundy today’.

Critics Ratings

'Subtle nose, impeccably fresh but lacking the nutty complexity normally associated with the appellation. Having said that, there is an incredibly dense palate and long, concentrated fruit which should age for a long time. Judging from their other 2015s, this will be magnificent – but it needs time to get there.' - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18+/20 (Jan 2017)
