Drappier Grand Sendree 2005
'This is a fragrant, floral wine that also has a mature, toasty character. Bottle age has contributed biscuit and oatmeal notes, adding depth to its tight mineral acidity. It's a beautiful, delicate wine that is totally ready to drink.' - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (Dec 2013)
Duval Leroy Femme 1996
'A sculpted Champagne, with a steely backbone of acidity swathed in a fine and silky texture, offering rich flavors of baked apple and plum fruit, almond financier, crème de cassis, honey and toasted coconut. Long and mouthwatering, and still very, very young. Drink now through 2090.' -Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator, 97/100 (Dec 2014)
'As it develops in bottle, this wine retains all its intense acidity. But it has now brought in a toast and yeast character that gives it even greater complexity. It is a wine that is also a Champagne, now in full flow of mineral richness, still with a long way to develop.' - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 95/100 (Dec 2010)
Larmandier-Bernier Terre de Vertus Champagne Premier Cru 2012
'the 2012 Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Terre de Vertus is showing beautifully, unwinding in the glass with scents of citrus oil, green apple, crisp apricot, pastry cream and toasted almonds. Medium to full-bodied, layered and vinous, it's concentrated and textural, with a bright spine of acidity, a pinpoint mousse and a long, saline finish. As usual, it's derived from lieu-dit Les Barillers, located at mid-slope in Vertus.' - William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 94+/100 (Mar 2021)
Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle NV
'Laurent-Perrier's prestige cuvée has always been nonvintage, a blending of top wines from top years. It remains an exceptional wine, not quite dry and with a tinge of softness, but so elegant and balanced. This bottling has just the right amount of maturity, hinting at toast while guarding every iota of fruitiness.' - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 97/100 (Dec 2014)
Pol Roger Vintage 2004
'Floral nose, tight knit bead. Quite like the 2006. Fresh and tight and quite rich. Good bite.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Aug 2017)
'Just approaching maturity, this rich wine is sumptuous and complex. It has intense fruitiness, with apple and grapefruit flavors that are followed by a tight texture as well as the first signs of toastiness. It has plenty of life yet. Drink now–2024.' - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 95/100 (Dec 2014)
Pol Roger Vintage 1999
'Very persistent. Deep gold. Smoky, lightly cheesy and smells of soy sauce – umami. Refined and complete. A bit dry on the end. Not as fresh as some. Notably sweet on the end.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Aug 2017)
'From start to finish, this top quality vintage follows a straight line. It starts with freshness and explodes into richness. The initial very tight structure soon opens out with white pears and green plums, soft and ripe. The fruit is supported by the structure which offers orange zest. Like many 1999s, this is almost ready to drink.' - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (Dec 2008)
Alexandre Bonnet Comtesse Alexia Brut NV
This is an exclusive blend for Woolworths from the Champagne company Alexandre Bonnet in the Aube region of Champagne. The intense, almost hedonistic richness of the 80% Pinot Noir is offset by the delicacy and floral overtones of the 20% Chardonnay.
