About this Item
Today, Clos Floridène owns more than 40 hectares in the Graves appellation of Bordeaux, mostly on the limestone plâteau of Pujols sur Ciron, near Barsac. Its name stems from the combination of the founders’ names – Denis and Florence Dubourdieu. In the 1980s, Clos Floridène was only a small, 2-hectare plot of old Sémillon and Muscadelle vines, but it was immediately planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. Through the gradual purchase of adjacent plots, the vineyard was established as it is today. Over 36 years, the estate and all its out buildings have been renovated and restored. Today, Clos Floridène as an independent vineyard and winery and is highly respected around the world.

Critics Ratings
‘Lovely, with lemon shortbread, chartreuse, yellow apple and makrut lime notes, layered seamlessly and backed by a long echo of quinine on the finish.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Apr 2014)
‘The 2012 Clos Floridène Blanc has a respectable, chalk and lemon zest nose, a touch of peach in the background lending more complexity. The palate is well balanced with traces of lemon and orange rind, quite linear with a marine-influenced, Muscadet-like finish. This delicious white Bordeaux, one of the best values around, will drink supremely well over the next decade or so.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Jan 2016)
