About this Item
When one considers the long list of acclaim and reputation built from releasing top quality wines, vintage after vintage, from their restored 220 year old cellar on Paardebosch farm on the slopes of the Paardeberg in the Swartland, it's hard to imagine that David & Nadia Sadie established this brand as recent as 2010 only. The wines are characteristically fine and elegant, expressive of the places they come from. The focus lies on a spectrum of organic, old and dry land bush vine vineyards from different areas with different soil types throughout the Swartland, farmed by like-minded people. Considered one of the 'young guns' during the fine wine revolution of the Swartland, David's wines are now considered among the best in the region and beyond.
This lot consists of the following wines:
Hoë-Steen Chenin Blanc 2017 (1 x 750ml)
Skaliekop Chenin Blanc 2017 (1 x 750ml)
David & Nadia is a family owned Swartland driven project and we focus on a spectrum of organic, old and dry land bush vine vineyards from different areas with different soil types throughout the Swartland, farmed by like-minded people. They are members of the Swartland Independent Producers. 'In the vineyard we aim for biological farming and in the cellar we work as natural as possible. It is all about the soil and vineyards after all. We believe in a pure, fresh and natural style where site and soil are at work with minimal influence from a winemaking point of view.' David & Nadia

Hoë-Steen Chenin Blanc 2017
‘Fans of this wine - and I’m in the front row every time - will be delighted to hear that production has risen to five barrels in 2017. Planted in 1968, this two-hectare vineyard is a thing of wonder. Musk, nutmeg and herbal, green apple flavours, incredible intensity and length and an undertone of old wood. One of the Cape’s greatest whites. 2020-30’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 98/100
Skaliekop Chenin Blanc 2017
‘It’s an amazing achievement to produce two of South Africa’s greatest Chenins, but David Sadie has done it in 2017. This come from a 1985 bush vine block on a shale outcrop surrounded by granite and is tight, coiled and focused, with some underlying stone fruit flavours, subtle oak and incredible length. 2019-26’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 98/100
