Critics Ratings

Colmant Absolu NV
‘Another fantastic bottling of NV Absolu that possesses the power of zero dosage. Bright and energetic citrus aromas fill the glass with notions of zesty green apple, biscuit and toasted brioche. Medium-bodied, the palate explodes with fantastic texture from the extended lees aging (seven years) before the crisp, bright and linear acidity beam across the mid-palate with laser-sharp precision. The wine somersaults with extraordinary complexity before ending with a focused and linear finish that will remain food-friendly for years. This stellar bottle deserves to be in your cellar. Bravo!’ - Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Jun 2022)

‘Thrilling bone-dry chardonnay NV. Taut, fresh lime notes make way for creamy macadamia & lees richness. Chiseled, complex & balanced from use of oaked reserve wine (15%) & 85 months ageing. Rewarding long finish. Set to develop over the next decade.’ - Platters Wine Guide 5* 95/100, (2023)

Bon Courage - Jacques Bruere Blanc de Blancs 2012
Tim Atkin 93/100 (Mar 2022)

1771 Heritage Square Cap Classique 2017
This exclusive vintage was produced from a single vine planted in 1771. The vine believed to be a old Cape Riesling, showed DNA traces of Chenin Blanc when analysed in a lab in France. A cultivar to be known as Gross Chenin Blanc. However she still shades the Heritage Square's courtyard in the heart of Cape Town and bears fruit every summer. Harvested by hand under the expertise of winemaker Hennie Huskisson, the grapes were brought in at 18 Balling. After careful selection and hand de-stemming the best fruit was pressed (feet stomping as it would have been done in 1771). After fermentation the winemaking magic was done and bottled for a second fermentation in the bottle to produce a MCC sparkling wine.

Ambeloui Ceri 2018
Aged for 4 years on the lees. Vibrant and citrusy yet wonderfully mature for one of our younger wines. The bubbles are beautifully maturing.
