Critics Ratings
'Part of a new range of small-volume, single-vineyard releases under the Chapters label, this old-vine Chenin hails from granite soils in the Swartland. Wonderfully stony, grippy and intense, this has layers of citrus and pear tart flavours and classic grip. 2021-26' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 93/100
'From a 48-year-old Paardeberg vineyard on granite. Top notes of hay and herbs before pear, white peach and apple plus a little leesy complexity. Great fruit purity to go with a lovely line of acidity, the finish long and saline. One 400-litre barrel produced, resulting in 517 bottles.' - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 95/100 (Sep 2019)
'The 2018 Chapter Two Chenin Blanc has an open-knit expression of lemon oil and bruised peach skin on the nose. Medium-bodied, the wine is not as fresh on the palate, with flavors of pan-seared almonds, bruised apple and pears and a soft leesy mid-palate. While there is some fantastic texture and weight in the mouth, it seems like it has come at a sacrifice of the wine's freshness. The finish is long and complex but reserved, needing some more lively, energetic freshness to balance the nuttiness.' - Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate (Mar 2020)
