Critics Ratings
'Named after a Boer War guerrilla - Koen Roose-Vandenbroucke likes to be controversial - this is a first release of a pure Chenin from ferricrete soils. With very little oak influence, the fruit is given free rein: white flowers, pear tart, citrus and a tight, focused, pithy finish that's rich in extract. 2018-24' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2017, 95/100
'2016 chenin off ferricrete soils, very lightly oaked - thus fruitier (fresh apricot, peach, a little spice), & more pointed than Johanna Brandt version. Focused, tense & understated, with bright, shiny acidity & subtle intensity.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2018, 4.5* (93/100)
'From ferricrete soil. Matured for nine months on the lees in tank before three months in old oak. Pear, white peach and yellow apple plus just a hint of leesy complexity. Delicate yet expressive with well-defined fruit, the acidity beautifully integrated. Restrained and graceful.' - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100 (May 2017)
