About this Item

NV Blanc de Blancs
6 (1 x 6) 750ml

Champagne Barons de Rothschild is a Champagne house created in 2003 by three extensions of the Rothschild family. The house style is focused on Chardonnay-predominant cuvées produced from the some of the top cru vineyard sites in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. The Champagne Barons de Rothschild headquarters were established in Reims in 2007. The house works in collaboration with growers, sourcing Chardonnay grapes from Grands Cru and Premier Cru vineyards primarily in the Côte des Blancs, including Avize, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. The Rothschild dynasty was founded by Mayer Amschel Rothschild, born in Germany in 1744. The Champagne branch of the family's extensive wine portfolio is managed by Baron Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, older son of Philippine de Rothschild, and CEO Frédéric Mairesse.

Critics Ratings

‘Pure Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs makes up this intense wine. Its tight texture and mineral character are shot through with white fruits topped by citrus. This is a well-balanced wine, elegant and ready to drink.’ - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 92/100 (Dec 2018)

‘Delicate but mature. Lively, appley. Aperitif style; not especially intense but certainly very appetising. Dry finish. 6 g/l, apparently.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Feb 2016)

‘Rich pastry and cream notes are layered with tangy salinity and flavors of marzipan, yellow plum, roasted hazelnut and anise in this firm blanc de blancs, exhibiting a lively bead. Drink now through 2018.’ - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Oct 2015)
