About this Item
The second oldest wine farm in the Cape, and the first in its district, Boschendal is one of the Cape’s jewels with breath-taking 1800-hectare scenery, bespoke hospitality and award-winning wines. With a winemaking history dating back to 1685, Boschendal has long been a showpiece for the traditional heritage of the South African wine industry.
Anglo American acquired the property in 1969, and during the decade of the ‘70s invested in restoration of buildings, expansion of vineyards and building a modern cellar.

Critics Ratings
'58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Petit Verdot and 18% Malbec. Matured for 18 months in 300-litre barrels, partially new. Aromatics of red and black berries, some leafiness, violets and pencil shavings while the palate has a nice composure about it - good fruit definition, bright acidity and tannins that are still firm.' - WineMag.co.za 2013 Vintage report (March 2023), 92/100
