About the SessionJust how well do modern-era South African wines perform as they get older ? One of the most important measures of great wine is that it should be age-worthy, that is it should become more pleasurable and more interesting to drink with time in the bottle.

Critics Ratings
'Smoky, serious and rich, boasting aromas of violets, plums and wood smoke, it’s concentrated, textured and fine, with tannins that suggest that it will age well in bottle. Drink: 2015-25.' – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2015, 94/100
'This has a lovely dark currant, warmed plum and steeped blueberry core, inlaid with cocoa and melted black licorice. Everything flows through the rich, velvety finish, with a note of black tea weaving in. Drink now through 2020.' – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Jun 2015)
'Dark, saturated ruby. Aromas of blueberry, violet, licorice and cedar. Lovely penetration to the clean, dark flavors of cassis and bitter chocolate. Shows none of the burnt rubber or woodsmoke elements that still plague some examples of Pinotage. Finishes firmly tannic and backward but without any hardness. This wine’s structure and compelling sugar/acid balance should ensure a long and graceful evolution in the bottle.' – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91+/100 (Apr 2015)
