About the SessionJust how well do modern-era South African wines perform as they get older ? One of the most important measures of great wine is that it should be age-worthy, that is it should become more pleasurable and more interesting to drink with time in the bottle.

'Cool and with some sweetness - very, very different structure to most. More Loire-like and cooler than the SA norm. The impression is more middle-Loire lightness. Pure middle-Loire flavours. Tangy.' - Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jan 2015)
'There may be some of the even better 2012 left in the marketplace, but even in a trickier, wetter vintage, this top of the range Chenin Blanc delivers the goods. Natural fermentation, lees stirring in larger oak and a touch of botrytis all contribute to the savoury complexity of this balanced, nuanced white. Drink: 2014-20.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2014, 93/100
'Full yellow. High toned (botrytis-influenced?) aromas lemon, mandarin orange, apple, honey and wild herbs. Sweet, densely packed and quite suave, with superconcentrated, rather exotic fruit flavours framed by excellent acidity and lifted with a limey quality. Nicely rising, fresh finish.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90/100 (Apr 2015)
