About the Session

Just how well do modern-era South African wines perform as they get older ? One of the most important measures of great wine is that it should be age-worthy, that is it should become more pleasurable and more interesting to drink with time in the bottle.

Critics Ratings

'Cab-led Bordeaux with Merlot & Petit Verdot, 2013 very youthful yet bursting with fruit flavour, tempered & balanced by supple tannin (22 month in barrel). Classically styled, understated & elegant. Like 2012 (5 stars, 95 pts), will reward ageing.'- Platter's SA Wine Guide 2017, 4,5*

'Given the choice, I'd buy this in preference to the 2012, although both are very good wines. It's a scented, seamless cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon with 26% Merlot and 18% Petit Verdot, showing the poise and tannin management that are the hallmarks of Miles Mossop's red winemaking. Fresh, leafy and very long. Drink: 2017-26' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2016, 94/100
