'How about this for an achievement. The same vineyard produces my white and red discoveries of the year in successive vintages. This schist-grown Syrah is another stunning release from Donovan Rall. Scented, spicy and stemmy, with clove and pepper spice, some rose petal notes and a core of dense red fruits. 2021-30' - Tim Atkin SA Wine Report 2018, 97/100.

'Subtle spiciness, lilies and unshowy red fruit aromas on 2017 from a vineyard block beside the Ava Chenin. Exciting, nervy palate, somewhat austerely tucking the pure fruit into the structure of stony, powdery dry tannins and fresh acid.
