About this Item
Reyneke is one of 5 Stellenbosch properties to get First Growth status in Tim Atkin's 2017 SA Report. Reyneke farm began in 1863 when it was then named 'Uitzicht', meaning 'view'. It is located overlooking Stellenbosch and False Bay with north, south and east facing slopes. Reyneke is certified organic and biodynamic and follows sustainable practices in everything they do. 'Their wines demonstrate the care they take, not infallible wines, rather honest and personality-driven wines that are distinctive, as much cerebral as sensory experiences,' says Neal Martin.
Perched overlooking Stellenbosch and False Bay with a history dating back to 1863, Reyneke is the family farm of Johan Reyneke and one of the original organic farms registered in the Cape. Previously known as Uitzicht, meaning the view, Reyneke’s passionate concern for the well-being of their estate and land is matched by brilliance of winemaker Rudiger Gretschel. Reyneke has quickly become of the one leading Biodynamic wineries in the world.

'A single vineyard Syrah, first made in 2012, this is fermented with 30% whole bunches and aged in old barriques. It’s a consistently brilliant wine, all ginger and black pepper with savoury, granitic grip and a complex, multi-layered finish. 2019-30' -Tim Atkin 96/100
