About this Item

2007 Sauternes
1 (1 x 1) 1500ml

Château Sigalas Rabaud is a Premier Cru Classé wine estate in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, producing both the classic sweet white wines associated with the region and a number of dry whites, all predominantly made from the Sémillon grape. The estate lies in the northern Bommes commune of the wider Sauternes appellation.
The 14-hectare estate is the smallest of the Sauternes first growths and is planted predominantly to Sémillon (85 percent). The remaining 15 percent of the vineyard is given over to Sauvignon Blanc, which is found in some of the wines.
Neighbors include first growth stablemates Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey to the southeast and Rayne Vigneau to the southwest.

Critics Ratings

‘A beautifully ripe wine, layering all the dense botrytis of the vintage with freshest acidity. It has weight, the texture of grainy honey, ripe yellow fruits, mango and orange zest. Impressive and certainly for aging.’ – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 94/100 (Jun 2010)

‘Simple, sweet, lemony and such depth and length.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Oct 2009)

‘Tasted single blind against its peers. There is a little sulphur on the nose of the Sigalas-Rabaud 2007. It comes across as quite tight at the moment but it possesses good definition with touches of guava and dried pineapple. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine spicy entry, quite cohesive with honey, ginger and a touch of marmalade. With good length and persistency towards the finish, this is a very fine, mid-weight Sauternes.’ – Neal Marin, Wine Advocate, 92/100 (Jan 2011)
