rectangular, the sides with open gallery, the back with paper knife supports and engraved in relief, with fitted pierced ink compartments and silver-mounted glass inkwells flanking an applied gold plaque engraved with initials, with pen depression, raised on four bell-shaped feet, the stand 945g,25,5cm wide; and an associated silver pen, apparently unmarked, in the form of a quill
