About this Item
Domaine Bize’s history begins in 1880 in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Since then many generations have followed, helping to establish Domaine Bize as it is today. In 1880, the great grandfather Simon Bize bought a few vineyard parcels. Nearly 70 years later, the father Simon Bize transformed the domaine and began bottling and selling their own wines. The quality of his wine was recognised and appreciated by experts and connoisseurs. In the 1970s, Patrick Bize took over from his father, built a cuverie, expanded the barrel cellars, and bought new parcels in order to offer a more extensive wine range. Patrick passed away in 2013, leaving the domaine to his wife Chisa, his sister Marielle, and the entire team. They continue Patrick’s ever-present goal of pursuing quality through careful, environmentally friendly work in the vineyards.

Critics Ratings
‘Reduction pushes the seemingly ripe fruit to the background. By contrast there is excellent freshness and energy to the more intensely mineral-driven, precise and powerful middle-weight plus flavors that deliver outstanding depth on the austere and linear finish. This is very much a baby and will require extended cellaring to realize its full, and considerable, potential.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound, 91-94/100 (Apr 2014)
