About this Item

Mulderbosch - Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2016 (6 x 750ml)
This particular Mulderbosch vineyard consistently impresses us, being the stand-out tank of red wine in the cellar annually. Aside from being an important component in our Faithful Hound red blend, it now also finds a home as a “selected vineyards” bottling of Cabernet Franc.

Winemaking is kept simple: fermenting the grapes on skins for approximately 3 weeks prior to pressing and transferring to barrels on completion of malo-lactic fermentation. The 2016 vintage Cabernet Franc spent 17 months in 300L French Oak barrels, 50% of which were new. The wine was bottled with no filtration or fining in July 2017, so may develop a light sediment over time.

Naudé Wines - Old Vine Cinsault 2015 (6 x 750ml)
Released in 2017 the Naudé Old Vine Cinsault 2015 shows complex layers of lychee, rose petals, fleshy yellow fruits, raspberry, and bramble berry fruit with a pronounced granitic mineral accent underpinned by chalky tannins. Plenty of structure and intensity. The 2015 is a touch brighter and slightly leaner, sitting at just 12% alcohol. Matured in old oak and made very naturally, it delivers a host of crunchy fruits along with a crystalline freshness and fine texture.

Quoin Rock - 1 bottle of each Quoin Rock Shiraz 2016 & Chardonnay 2018 (2 x 750ml)
Quoin Rock wines are born in the lush green vineyards of Stellenbosch and Quoin Point, near the Southernmost tip of Africa.

The Agulhas area where our conservation Boskloof farm is located and where bontebok, springbok, eland, and zebra roam once more, is the departure point from which some of our most distinctive wines begin their journey. Here our viticulturist keeps watch on the development of the vines, the weather, and the soil - nature’s terroir that sets down the building blocks of a great wine. It is then the winemaker’s turn in a combination of natural alchemy and years of experience, to create superior, well-balanced wines with complex flavours. Today, Quoin Rock wines make their way from Quoin Rock Estate to Table Bay Harbour in Cape Town and to international ports around the world, following a historic journey for wines produced in the Stellenbosch area nearly 500 years ago.
