De Wetshof Estate - Bateleur Chardonnay 2021 - A South African Icon (1 x 1.5L)
Named after Africa’s famous eagle species, Bateleur is synonymous with a revered South African wine symbolising site-specific vinous excellence. The De Wetshof Bateleur Chardonnay was one of the wines which pioneered this royal Burgundian variety at the Cape and since its maiden 1990 vintage has become known among wine-lovers around the world as an optimal expression of terroir from the De Wetshof Estate in Robertson.

The Bateleur vineyard was planted in 1987 from plant material imported directly from the famous Clos de Mouches vineyard in Beaune, Burgundy. De Wetshof proprietor Danie de Wet, known as a founder of South Africa’s Chardonnay industry, selected a site on De Wetshof especially suited to bringing the essence of the Burgundian clone to the fore. The soils are especially rich in limestone, ideal for ensuring an amenable pH level in the wine, with the dramatic surface of broken mountain rock and gravel ensuring an intense minerality. The wine’s appeal lies in provenance and the pioneering legacy of the producer, as well as its expression of soil, climate, and site through visceral Chardonnay flavours of white flowers, citrus, and nuts. Muscular and statuesque in structure, Bateleur matures majestically for up to 15 years after vintage. It is a wine that has created its own legend and is recognised the world-over as a true South African classic.

Epicurean Wines - Red Blend 2012 (1 x 1.5L)
A collaboration between three great friends - Mutle Mogase, Moss Ngoasheng and Mbhazima Shilowa - Epicurean takes a love of French wine, and expressed that passion through South African terroir, for a red wine that has become a benchmark for luxury blends.
The magnum of 2012 included here offers a rich, elegant tribute to a vintage that is now truly coming into its own.

Silverthorn Wines - The Green Man 2018 (2 x 1.5L)
Half human, half nature, the Green Man is an ancient mythical figure representing the spirit of the forest, the continuous regeneration of life and the interdependence of all things. He has appeared throughout the ages from as far afield as ancient Babylon, India, Borneo and Nepal, to abbeys and cathedrals all over Europe. He manifests in many forms, most commonly as a semi-human, foliate head, representing the fusion of man and nature. In his modern guise, The Green Man has appeared under a new name – Ecology. It is this spirit, as well as the delicate green hue of Silverthorn’s Chardonnay Cap Classique, that inspired winemaker John Loubser to break with the traditional name ‘Blanc de Blancs’ and personify the wine with the name The Green Man.
