About this Item
Hartenberg Estate - Gravel Hill Vertical 2005 - 2007 (3 x 750ml)
“This collection pays homage to Hartenberg's pioneering spirit in South African winemaking and the remarkable Gravel Hill terroir.
Over the past 30 years, a veritable giant has emerged from seemingly unforgiving, gravel soil. Gravel Hill’s exceptional reputation is rooted in the site's unique geology. A thin layer of ferrous stone hides a deeper clay stratum, creating a reservoir for the vines. The seasons shape the vines, limiting vigor and nurturing exceptional character.
Since Carl’s first vintage in 1993 he realized the distinct difference in character and quality of this site. In 1997, Gravel Hill was released as a CWG Auction wine, and it was in 2005 that this remarkable terroir was first bottled as Gravel Hill under Hartenberg.
These three bottles encapsulate the essence of place and terroir, synonymous with exceptional Syrah, making this collection a piece of vinicultural history - a testament to the enduring legacy of Hartenberg's Gravel Hill.”
Keermont Vineyards - Amphitheatre Flagship Red Blend (1 x 1.5L) & 2-Night stay in Winery Apartment.
Amphitheatre Magnum:
Our flagship blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Keermont Vineyards is a family-owned wine estate set in the naturally formed amphitheatre between the Helderberg and Stellenbosch Mountain ranges. Selecting the best fruit from several vineyard sites on the farm, we create a blend each year which is distinctive, unique, and portrays the character of our superb terroir. This blend is Keermont Amphitheatre. Our 2016 vintage spent 20 months maturing in seasoned French oak barriques (first, second, third fill) before being bottled by hand, without filtration on 29 November 2017. The wine lay in bottle in our cellar for 5 years before release to ensure integration and maturity. 7500 bottles and 107 magnums were produced.
Two-night Stay:
Keermont is a family-owned wine estate on more than 100 hectares of fynbos and 30 hectares of vineyards... a nature-lovers dream destination. With surroundings offering panoramic views, the farm is framed by the Stellenbosch and Helderberg Mountain ranges, offering a secluded escape 20 minutes from Stellenbosch, with its many attractions and restaurants. The apartment is above the working winery so expect some hustle and bustle during the day and the low hum of machinery at night.
