About this Item
Niels and Penny Verburg’s agenda to eschew innovation at this Bot River property, after going solo in the early 2000’s after successful wine making at nearby Beaumont, has served them well, establishing Luddite as one of the finest Shiraz producers in South Africa.

Critics Ratings
‘2012 is a highpoint for this bold & big blend Shiraz, Cabernet, Mourvédre. Textured mouthful of bright & spicy cured meat lift on long finish. From 5 Bot River blocks, like 10. 11 untasted.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2016, 5*
‘The 2012 Saboteur is a blend of 52% Shiraz, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Mourvedre. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded and supple tannins. There is impressive weight in the mouth and yet the spicy finish is both well-defined and begs another sip. Excellent.’ – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate (October 2014), 93/100
