The 4G is an ambitious project with the sole aim of creating SA's ‘First Growth’. It was first produced in 2009, combining the best terroirs of the Cape with the best Old World winemaking expertise. Launch partners included, Giorgio Dalla Cia (ex-Meerlust) and Denis Dubourdieu (Doisy-Daene, Bordeaux).
The G. is a modern red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Shiraz. The 2009 was a limited-edition release only available to a select group of family and friends, with the first commercial release only being the 2010. This is then a rare opportunity to get a slice of modern SA wine history.
