The family-owned Delheim estate, owned by the Sperlings, is located on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain. The late Michael Hans 'Spatz' Sperling, was the Patriarch of Delheim but his eldest son and daughter (Victor and Nora) now run the farm and live there together with their families. In addition to the vineyards on the Delheim farm, they also produce red grape varieties on a property known as Vera Cruz, located just a few kilometers away. They follow sustainable farming practices and produce a wide range of internationally acclaimed wines.

Critics Ratings

Enduring success for this trail blazing flagship; sometimes blended, latterly 100% cabernet latest 01 with 2% merlot. Classy cassis, tea-leaf & cinnamon bouquet; darkly handsome fruit cosseted in fine oak,’ Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2005, 4*

Subtler, more primary aromas of cherry, currant and tobacco. Then sweeter and fresher in the middle palate, with more raspberry fruit showing. With more buffering flavor, the tannins come across as finer and the flavors linger longer.’ Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com (March 2005). 88+/100
