Critics Ratings
Produced only in the best possible vintage the ‘spectacularly flavourful 1998’ was awarded a rare five star – Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2002, 5*
‘Full medium ruby. Nose melds cassis fruit along with strong torrefaction notes of roast coffee and bitter chocolate; lots of sexy oak showing. Very dense, sweet and mouthfilling; not yet especially complex but possesses a suppler, more sophisticated texture than most topnotch South African cabernet. Impressively concentrated, ripely tannic and very long on the aftertaste.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com (March 2002), 92/100
