About this Item
Rene Rostaing produced his first wine in 1971, but it took almost 3 decades before wine became a full time occupation. Through inheritance from Albert Dervieux Thaize, his father-in-law who retired in 1990, and from Marius Gentaz Dervieux, his uncle, Rene Rostaing was able to expand his Northern Rhone holdings, giving him some of the best terroir in Côte Rôtie. Rene Rostaing remains a traditional Côte Rôtie producer and there are few better on this historic slope.

Critics Ratings
The prodigious 2010 Côte Rôtie La Landonne reveals a dense purple color along with a huge, impressive perfume of roasted meats, black currants, black raspberries and scorched earth. This 100% Syrah comes from vines planted on exceptionally steep slopes composed of schist and iron-like sub-soils. Some graphite also makes an appearance in this mineral-dominated, well-delineated, rich, intense wine. - Robert Parker 96/100 (2012)
