About this Item

1969 Pinotage
3 (1 x 3) 750ml

With its history dating back to 1692, Lanzerac Wine Estate is one of South Africa’s most famous properties. Their signature ‘ten-pin’ shaped bottle from the 60s and 70s is unique and the wines within have stood the test of time. Lanzerac produced the first commercial Pinotage in the world with the 1959.

In the 1960s the grapes were reportedly sourced from Bellevue and Kanonkop.

Provenance

Distell Tabernacle

Critics Ratings

A hint of bonfire on the nose, with notes of ripe, grilled blackberries, similar to the superlative aged Rioja wines from the 60s. This is an impressive wine that has aged with grace. ‘Along with the 1969, the best pinotage I have tasted’. - 19/20 Beyers Truter (2016)
